Funkdified hand Bad JuJu seventh consecutive loss, 93.80-57.32
Funkdified secured a 93.80-57.32 win to hand Bad JuJu their seventh consecutive loss. Bad JuJu nabbed a 12.30-point lead on Thursday behind impressive showings from Ka'imi Fairbairn, who made both of his FG attempts for 8 points, and Jack Doyle, who caught 3 passes for 28 yards (4.3 points). But Funkdified held the lead the rest of the way, powered by Zach Ertz (12 Rec, 91 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) and Michael Thomas (10 Rec, 101 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD). This marks the first time this season Funkdified have beaten Bad JuJu, after falling 76.12-72.3 in their last matchup. Funkdified (8-4) will look to earn another W against Luke Skywokka, while Bad JuJu (3-9) meet The Bloody Nine in an effort to get some positive momentum.
Ertz (12 Rec, 91 Rec Yds, 1 Rec TD) scored 21.1 points in a 17-9 lost to the Seahawks in Week 12. His scoring output was 66.7% more than his 12.66-point projection and was much higher than his 10.23-point season scoring average. Ertz ranks #68 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Dolphins next week.
Funkdified
Getting the win is most important, Funkdified, but we've also identified one spot where we should improve as a team. Our starting quarterback was significantly outplayed by the opposition. Jimmy Garoppolo went 14-of-20 for 253 yards and two touchdowns for Bad JuJu, and all Russell Wilson could muster was a 13-for-25 outing, with 200 yards and one passing TD (plus an ugly interception). We need to bounce back with a big statement in Week 13!
Bad JuJu
Bad JuJu may find it tough to complain about lack of opportunity this past week. Our pass-catching corps (three WR and one TE) collectively saw a grand total of 29 targets in Week 12. Chemistry and timing appear to be issues as that group managed just 15 receptions.
