A late round draft pick would fluster the novice fantasy football manager, but this was obviously not the first rodeo for 星爷我姓姜. They were able to flip the 12th overall pick into an expected finish of third place with a record of 9-4-0 (1,538 points). They clearly wanted to assemble a wide receiver corps early, using three of their first five selections on Jordy Nelson (first round), Dez Bryant (second round), and Martavis Bryant (fourth round). These guys could be the key to the season for 星爷我姓姜, as they are the most prolific group of WRs in the league.

星爷我姓姜 should use Week 9 to consider life's great mysteries, like why abbreviation is such a long word. It would be better than checking fantasy football that week. They have four players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have the easiest slate. Along with the easiest overall schedule, both the first month and final month of the season project to be close to league-average in terms of difficulty for 星爷我姓姜.

Draft Notes

  • Strength in Numbers

WR is the best position for 星爷我姓姜, though TE and RB are also stronger-than-average.

  • Decently Mediocre

While the bottom half of the 星爷我姓姜 roster is one of the strongest in the league (projected to be No. 1), the top of the roster is among the weakest (ranked No. 12).

  • Defense Wins Championships?

Hoping to play the favorable matchups week-to-week, 星爷我姓姜 chose to go with two DEFs instead of loading up at other spots.

  • A Pair of Proven Winners

星爷我姓姜 has a couple of fantasy MVPs in their lineup. Last season, two of their players (Jordy Nelson and LeGarrette Blount) finished among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams.

  • Better Late Than Never

星爷我姓姜 finished on a high note, accumulating the most projected points in the league over the second half of the draft.

  • Did Stretch Armstrong Make That Pick?

Grabbing Robert Woods at pick 185 was definitely a reach. Woods is owned on just a handful of teams across all Yahoo! leagues.

Player Analysis

    • Jordy Nelson, WR
    • Round 1, Pick 12
    Nifty Nelson

Jordy Nelson returned to form last year after missing all of 2015. The Packers wideout led the league in red zone targets, and only Mike Evans appeared on more first-place fantasy rosters last season.

    • Dez Bryant, WR
    • Round 2, Pick 17
Possession is Nine-Tenths of the Law

Dez Bryant is expected to be a strong possession receiver this year, and his 94 projected catches rank fifth in the league.

    • Greg Olsen, TE
    • Round 3, Pick 40
    Stolen In Broad Daylight

Greg Olsen was the best value pick of the round and could be the cause of many sleepless nights for the other managers.

    • M. Bryant, WR
    • Round 4, Pick 45
    Dishing Out Nightmares

Martavis Bryant will look to haunt the dreams of opposing corners, as he's projected to finish sixth in the NFL with 9.9 receiving TDs.

    • Stefon Diggs, WR
    • Round 5, Pick 68
    Taking a Chance

With their fifth-round pick, 星爷我姓姜 threw caution to the wind. They took Stefon Diggs at pick number 68 despite an ADP of 98.1 across all Yahoo! leagues.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
