KButter5 took advantage of a favorable draft slot and built the kind of roster that makes opponents "go out of town" or "spend time with the kids" when they see your team on the schedule. KButter5 is projected to finish first in TDL 2017 C League at 12-1-0 (1,618 points). With five receivers on the roster, KButter5 guaranteed the WR position was all shored up. Compared to the league average of 140, their WRs' projected average of 146 points this season is not much different than the rest of the wideout groups in the league. They wound up with the best group of RBs in the league, as they added Le'Veon Bell, Leonard Fournette and Doug Martin to their roster.

KButter5 can chalk up Week 9 as a loss. They have four players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have one of the least challenging schedules. KButter5 has the opportunity to come out firing, as the first four games of their season are projected to be less difficult than the league average.

Draft Notes

  • Big D

KButter5 elected to go with two DEFs instead of loading up at other spots.

  • A Dominating Pair

KButter5 has a pair of fantasy MVPs in their lineup. Last season, two of their players (Le'Veon Bell and Amari Cooper) finished among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams.

  • Full Control Early On

KButter5 began things with a bang, nabbing the most projected points in the league during the draft's first half.

Player Analysis

    • Le'Veon Bell, RB
    • Round 1, Pick 2
    Advanced Math

If KButter5 had a nickel for every time Le'Veon Bell is projected to touch the ball this season, they'd have 327 nickels.

    • L. Fournette, RB
    • Round 2, Pick 23
    Old Fashioned

KButter5 stuck to the tried-and-true fantasy strategy of going RB-RB to start the draft, taking Le'Veon Bell and Leonard Fournette before targeting other positions.

    • Amari Cooper, WR
    • Round 3, Pick 26
    Better Lucky Than Good?

The rest of TDL 2017 C League overlooked a gem, and KButter5 made the highest value pick of the round by taking Amari Cooper.

    • Greg Olsen, TE
    • Round 4, Pick 47
    Panther Performance

Olsen saw an increase in targets for the sixth consecutive year in 2016. It was his third straight 1,000-yard campaign and ninth year in a row suiting up for all 16 games.

    • Allen Robinson, WR
    • Round 5, Pick 50
    Rethinking That One

Allen Robinson went with the 50th pick, even though he's projected to fall outside of the top-20 in the NFL in both receiving TDs (29th) and receiving yards (23rd) with 7.7 and 1,040 respectively.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
