Having the first pick in the draft doesn't always lead to a championship-caliber squad. In this case, however, it very well could. Baker Mayfield did what top-flight fantasy footballers do when they land the No. 1 overall pick. They constructed a juggernaut. The team is especially deep at the running back position, as Todd Gurley II and Sony Michel are slated to combine for the highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league. Baker Mayfield are predicted to finish in first place in TDL 2018 A with a mark of 10-3 (1,598 points).

  • D.J. Moore

Biggest Steal: What a great late-round bargain for Baker Mayfield, who got Moore with the 1st pick in the 15th round, about four rounds later than his ADP of 128. Moore is projected to score 117 fantasy points with the Panthers, which makes him a valuable No. 4 WR for this squad.

  • Corey Coleman

Reach Pick: You may have been a little overeager when deciding to draft Coleman in the 8th round, about three rounds earlier than his ADP of 131. You might be onto something, though. Projected to score 126 fantasy points this season with the Bills, he appears poised to top last year when he racked up 23 catches for 305 yards and 2 TDs in 9 games, posting 43 fantasy points. According to projections, Coleman will slot in as the No. 2 WR for Baker Mayfield to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • The early bird gets the worm. You got the jump on your opponents at quarterback, drafting Aaron Rodgers (No. 25 overall) as the first QB off the board.

  • Week 4 could be a rude awakening for Baker Mayfield, as they have three players on a bye (Chris Thompson, Greg Olsen, and D.J. Moore). Your Week 4 opponent, 左仁佳'S Team, won't be nearly as hamstrung with only one player (Adrian Peterson) on a bye.

  • With a first-half strength of schedule that rates as the 2nd-most difficult according to projections, Baker Mayfield have one of the hardest schedules in the early-going in TDL 2018 A. Even so, for the season as a whole, Baker Mayfield should expect a fairly balanced path ranked as the 5th toughest.

  • Baker Mayfield waited until all of their individual offensive positions were filled before choosing RB Sony Michel in the 7th round as the first flex player on the roster.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
