Having the top pick in the draft doesn't guarantee a championship-caliber squad. But it very well could in this case. Tails did what professional fantasy owners do when they land the No. 1 overall pick. They put together a juggernaut. The team is notably deep at running back, as Todd Gurley II and Joe Mixon are expected to combine for the highest point total of all starting RB groups in the league. Tails are projected to finish in first place in TDL 2018 B with a undefeated mark of 13-0 (1,615 points).

  • Drew Brees

Biggest Steal: What a outstanding early value for Tails, who got Brees at No. 72, about 21 picks later than his ADP of 51. Following a season in which he threw for 4,334 yards and 23 TDs with 8 interceptions, totaling 309 fantasy points, Brees is projected to score 285 fantasy points with the Saints. That makes him a valuable No. 2 QB for this squad.

  • Joe Mixon

Going out on a Limb: Do you know something nobody else does? There's no other explanation for choosing Mixon with the 12th pick of the 2nd round, about 13 picks earlier than his ADP of 37. Then again, perhaps you're onto something? Projected to score 181 fantasy points this season with the Bengals, he appears poised to take a step forward from his rookie year when he ran for 626 yards and 4 TDs and had 30 receptions for 287 yards over 14 games to post 110 fantasy points. According to projected points, Mixon will slot in as the No. 2 RB for Tails to begin the season.

Draft Notes

  • With five quarterbacks already off the board, Tails foresaw a run coming and jumped in early, taking Drew Brees in the 6th round. Three more quarterbacks went in the ensuing round.

  • Tails face a tough task in Week 11 when they have five players on a bye (LeSean McCoy, Stephen Gostkowski, DeVante Parker, Corey Coleman, and Charles Clay). Your Week 11 opponent, Godrichp, will have three players (Kenyan Drake, Marquise Goodwin, and Matt Breida) getting the week off.

  • With a strength of schedule rated as the 2nd-easiest based on projections, Tails face one of the most coveted schedules in TDL 2018 B this season.

  • In spite of openings at QB, WR, and TE in the 4th round, Tails selected RB LeSean McCoy at No. 48, filling the WR/RB/TE flex position instead of a more important position.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
