  • Rehab assignment coming
Mahle (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Mahle is scheduled to throw a bullpen session at Camden Yards this weekend, per Texas manager Bruce Bochy, prior to joining Round Rock. If all goes well, the right-hander could be part of the Rangers' rotation by the beginning of August. Mahle is working his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent last May. • Hit hard by Guardians
Ragans (5-6) took the loss Saturday, coughing up five runs on six hits and a walk over 4.2 innings as the Royals were downed 7-2 by the Guardians. He struck out six.

Advice: The big blow off the southpaw was a two-run blast by rookie Jhonkensy Noel in the fourth inning, but Ragans also got tagged for doubles by Josh Naylor and Jose Ramirez, with the latter chasing him from the game in the fifth after 93 pitches (52 strikes). Ragans hadn't given up more than three runs in a start since May 11, and he'll take a 3.33 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 126:34 K:BB through 102.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Colorado. • Notches third straight win
Bibee (7-2) picked up the win Saturday, allowing two runs on four hits over six innings in a 7-2 victory over the Royals. He struck out three without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander looked shaky early, serving up solo shots to Vinnie Pasquantino in the first inning and Michael Massey in the second, but Bibee didn't let a runner even get to second base after that. He's reeled off three straight wins, all quality starts, and he'll take a 3.47 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 109:22 K:BB through 93.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Giants. • Throws one rehab inning
Garcia (elbow) threw one scoreless inning in the Florida Complex League on Friday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Garcia returned to game action for the first time since May of 2023. He threw 12 pitches and averaged 92.7 mph with his fastball. Garcia is slated to make his next rehab outing in early July. Rotowire.com Today, 12:32 am
  • Set for bullpen session
Bloss (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bloss has played catch a few times since landing on the injured list, but Sunday will mark his most intense activity. He's expected to return in early July, shortly after he is first eligible to be activated. Rotowire.com Today, 12:29 am
  • Building workload
Senzatela (elbow) threw between 30 and 35 pitches in a bullpen session Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Senzatela threw his fastball and changeup during the session with the goal of building up his stamina. He is expected to be cleared to throw breaking balls in the coming days, at which time he could also begin to face live hitters. Rotowire.com Today, 12:17 am
  • Struggles in rehab outing
Marquez (elbow) allowed four earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one batter and recording just two outs in a rehab outing with Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Advice: Marquez made his first start with Albuquerque, though things didn't go according to plan. He threw only 33 pitches in the short outing and will now require another rehab appearance either July 3 or 4. If Marquez can turn around his performance in that start, he may return to the big-league rotation before the All-Star break. Rotowire.com Today, 12:14 am
  • Takes sixth loss Saturday
Civale (2-6) was tagged with the loss against Washington on Saturday, allowing two runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two batters over 5.2 innings.

Advice: Civale threw only 58 of 102 pitches for strikes and handed out four free passes, but he managed to mostly weave out of trouble and finished one out shy of a quality start. Nonetheless, he ended up in the loss column since the Rays' offense gave him only one run of support. Civale has gone 14 straight outings without a victory, and he hasn't pitched well overall with a 5.79 ERA over that span. The right-hander has been better of late, however, giving up two or fewer earned runs while hurling at least five frames in five of his past seven starts. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:02 pm
  • Registers another quality start
Irvin (6-6) earned the win over Tampa Bay on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit and three walks while striking out five batters over six innings.

Advice: Irvin served up a solo homer to Brandon Lowe in the first inning, but that was the only run -- and only hit -- he allowed in the contest. The right-hander recorded his seventh quality start over his past eight outings, and he's posted an excellent 2.09 ERA and 0.93 WHIP during that span. Irvin didn't seem like he'd be a fantasy factor this year after posting a 4.61 ERA and 1.42 WHIP as a rookie last season, but he's provided strong ratios with a 3.03 ERA and 1.06 WHIP along with an 86:23 K:BB across 98 frames.
