  • Extends hit streak to 13 games
Kiner-Falefa went 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Kiner-Falefa singled and scored in the first inning and added another base hit in the fifth. He smacked an RBI single and scored in the sixth frame and then finished his huge day by doubling and scoring again in the eighth. The 29-year-old has put together a 13-game hit streak and seen his season average climb from .263 to .296. He also has seven home runs, 33 RBI, 32 runs scored and three steals over 277 plate appearances in what has been a surprisingly productive 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:32 pm
  • Steals 40th bag in win
De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: De La Cruz hit an RBI double in the third inning and followed it up with his 40th steal of the season. He then tripled and scored in a six-run fifth frame for the Reds. After going eight games without a steal, the 22-year-old has now swiped a bag in three consecutive contests and continues to lead the league in the category. He struck out three times to bring his league-leading season total to 110, but De La Cruz is nonetheless batting .255 with 14 home runs, 37 RBI and 55 runs scored over 355 plate appearances. • Homers, drives in three in win
DeJong went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-3 win over the Rockies.

Advice: DeJong gave the White Sox the lead on a two-run home run in the sixth and added an RBI single and a run scored in the eighth. This was the shortstop's second multi-hit game in a row, and he is now tied for second at the position in home runs on the season with 15. The 30-year-old is also hitting .241 with 34 RBI and 33 runs scored over 280 plate appearances in 2024. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:54 pm
  • Enters free agency
Trejo cleared waivers Saturday and elected to become a free agent.

Advice: Trejo was jettisoned from the Rockies' 40-man roster Friday to make room for Aaron Schunk, and he'll now look for another opportunity elsewhere after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old has slashed just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances this season, and any offer he receives from another organization will almost certainly come in the form of a minor-league deal. • Ankle injury not considered serious
Manager Oliver Marmol said Saturday that Edman (wrist) was able to field grounders again Friday without any problems with his sprained ankle, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

Advice: Marmol added that Edman remains on track to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield or Triple-A Memphis sometime next week, barring any setbacks. The 29-year-old infielder has spent all season on the injured list, so an extended stint in the minors will likely be necessary, though it's still possible he'll be able to rejoin the big-league club before the All-Star break. • Idle Saturday
Perdomo isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

Advice: The switch-hitting Perdomo has posted just a .476 OPS against southpaws since being activated off the injured list June 11, so he'll get a day off against left-hander Hogan Harris. Kevin Newman will enter the lineup as Arizona's shortstop and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:08 am
  • Scratched Saturday
Brujan was scratched from the Marlins' lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus Philadelphia, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The Marlins have not yet provided a reason for Brujan's removal from the lineup, but the team should offer some clarity in the near future. In the meantime, Jake Burger will shift to third base for Brujan while Josh Bell moves to first, allowing Jesus Sanchez to enter the lineup as Miami's DH. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:36 am

  • Out of lineup Saturday
Rocchio is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Rocchio will be absent from the lineup for the second time in three games. He went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts in Friday's 10-3 loss to Kansas City. Gabriel Arias will start at shortstop and bat ninth against Royals southpaw Cole Ragans. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:02 am
  • Three hits Friday
Rafaela started at shortstop and went 3-for-4 with a double in Friday's 9-2 loss to San Diego.

Advice: Rafaela is having a productive June, but he entered the game on a 1-for-18 run. The multi-hit effort was his eighth of the month, and the infielder/outfielder is batting .417 (20-for-48) over the last 13 games. This was his third start at shortstop in as many appearances, as manager Alex Cora adjusts to get his hottest bats in the lineup; Jarren Duran slotted in as the center field while David Hamilton manned second base Friday.
