    Vierling was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels due to left foot soreness.

    Advice: Vierling suffered the injury during Saturday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Angels, when he fouled a pitch off his foot in the top of the 10th. Preliminary X-rays came back clean, but the 27-year-old wasn't moving well in pregame workouts Sunday, per Chris McCosky of The Detroit News.
