    Stone did not factor into the decision in a loss to Arizona on Wednesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks over three innings while striking out three.

    Advice: Stone battled with Arizona's lineup from the jump, allowing three of the first four batters to reach in the opening frame before allowing another three baserunners in the second. He then surrendered four runs on four hits in the third, including a two-run homer off the bat of Gabriel Moreno as the Diamondbacks evened the score at four runs apiece. The right-hander would not return for the fourth after needing 77 pitches to get through three frames, marking his shortest outing since April 7 against the Cubs.   • Strikes out two for 21st save
    Kimbrel picked up the save over the Mariners on Wednesday, pitching a perfect ninth inning while striking out two.

    Advice: Kimbrel entered the contest with a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and fanned the first two batters he faced before getting Julio Rodriguez to pop out to first for the final out. The veteran reliever has converted each of his last five save attempts, posting a 9:3 K:BB over that stretch while not allowing any hits.     Gilbert (5-5) took the loss against the Orioles on Wednesday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks over 5.1 innings while striking out six.

    Advice: Three of the four runs charged to Gilbert came across in the third inning when he walked two of the first four batters he faced before surrendering three consecutive hits with two outs in the frame. The right-hander would then give up a solo shot to Ryan O'Hearn in the fifth, marking the first time he's given up four or more runs in his last six outings. Gilbert had gone at least six innings in nine consecutive starts coming into Wednesday's loss while the three walks were the most he's allowed since May 14 against the Royals (span of nine starts).   • Dazzles in return to mound
    Kremer (4-4) picked up the win over the Mariners on Wednesday, allowing two hits and two walks over five shutout innings while striking out eight.

    Advice: Kremer was fantastic in his return to the mound, striking out six of the first 12 batters he faced while inducing 16 swings and misses over five frames. Fresh off the 15-day injured list (triceps), the right-hander was faced with a difficult task against a tough Mariners team on the road. However, he came through in a big way and lowered his season ERA from 4.32 to 3.93 with the shutout performance.   • Early exit in ninth loss
    Rogers (1-9) took the loss Wednesday as the Marlins were downed 7-2 by the Red Sox, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks over three innings. He struck out six.

    Advice: The southpaw didn't give up much hard contact as all the hits off him were singles, but Rogers was wildly inefficient and needed 84 pitches (52 strikes) to record just nine outs. It's the first time since May 21 he'd failed to last at least five innings, and over his last seven starts Rogers has a 3.49 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 29:16 K:BB through 39.2 innings.   • Fans seven in eighth win
    Bello (8-5) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing one run on seven hits and a walk over 6.2 innings in a 7-2 victory over the Marlins. He struck out seven.

    Advice: The 25-year-old right-hander was given a breather by the Red Sox -- his last start came back on June 25, when he lasted only 2.1 innings and surrendered seven runs to the Blue Jays -- and it paid off, as Bello produced his fourth quality start of the season on 91 pitches (61 strikes). The seven Ks were his highest total since May 28, while Wednesday's outing was the first time he hadn't issues multiple free passes since May 17.   • Serves up two homers in loss
    Daniel (1-1) took the loss against the Athletics on Wednesday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out three.

    Advice: Daniel allowed baserunners in five of the six frames in which he appeared and was finally chased from the game after giving up solo homers in both the fifth and sixth innings. The right-hander was unable to recreate the magic from his first start when he shut out the Tigers over eight frames, though he'll look to rebound next week when the Angels travel back home to take on the Rangers.     Mikolas came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to the Pirates, giving up two runs on five hits over six innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

    Advice: It was a vintage performance from the right-hander and a strong rebound from a 10-run disaster against the Reds his last time out. Mikolas delivered his 10th quality start of the season on an efficient 87 pitches (61 strikes) but left the mound on the hook for his eighth loss, until the Cards tied the game at 3-3 in the eighth inning. Even with last week's implosion, he sports a respectable 4.30 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB through 58.2 innings over his last 10 starts.     Williams (0-1) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up five runs on seven hits and two walks over four innings Wednesday as the Guardians fell 8-2 to the White Sox. He struck out two.

    Advice: Making his 2024 debut after recovering from an elbow injury he suffered during spring training, Williams faded quickly and served up back-to-back doubles to Lenyn Sosa and Nicky Lopez in the fourth inning to kick off a four-run frame for Chicago. The right-hander got lifted after 74 pitches (46 strikes), but some rust isn't surprising and Cleveland will give him time to find a rhythm on the mound.
