  • Blue Jays option Addison Barger back to Triple-A
Blue Jays optioned INF/OF Addison Barger to Triple-A Buffalo.

Advice: With everyone healthy, there isn’t a clear path to at-bats for Barger in Toronto at the moment. The 24-year-old has added some defensive versatility to his game this season, but has batted .150 (9-for-60) with zero homers and one steal in 63 plate appearances over 20 games in the majors. He’s going to get another shot eventually, but it might not be in the near future. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:54 am
  • Sitting Saturday
Kjerstad isn't in the Orioles' lineup for Saturday's game versus Oakland.

Advice: Kjerstad will get another day to rest Saturday after also sitting down Friday versus a left-handed starter. Austin Hays will draw another start in left field while Kjerstad sits. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:41 am
  • Back in lineup Saturday
Matos is starting in right field and batting fifth in Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Matos was scratched from Friday's lineup due to the return of Mike Yastrzemski (elbow), but the former will return after just one game. Since being recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on June 22, Matos has gone 10-for-39 with two home runs and four RBI in 13 games. He'll face off against Cleveland southpaw Logan Allen on Saturday. • Racks up three hits in win
Hays went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored in Friday's 3-2 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Hays celebrated his 29th birthday with a strong game. The outfielder's playing time has been inconsistent, but he gets regular looks versus left-handed pitchers. He's slashing .365/.411/.538 against southpaws this year compared to .190/.261/.329 against righties, so it's likely Hays continues to play serve mostly in a short-side role. However, he'll be rewarded for his strong game Friday by sticking in the lineup Saturday as the left fielder versus right-hander Luis Medina. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:36 am
  • Taking seat Saturday
McKinstry isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Saturday's game versus Cincinnati.

Advice: McKinstry has failed to record a base hit in 14 at-bats over his last five contests, and he'll now sit down for the second game in a row Saturday. Ryan Kreidler will start instead at shortstop and bat ninth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:31 am

  • Tyler Freeman returns to lineup Saturday vs. Giants
Tyler Freeman (wrist) has returned to the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Giants.

Advice: Freeman is back in center field and batting seventh following a three-game absence due to lingering right wrist discomfort. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:27 am

  • Swipes bag Friday
Burleson went 1-for-5 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Nationals.

Advice: Burleson is heating up again, going 7-for-21 (.333) over his last five games. The steal was his first since June 23, and he's offered decent speed for a player best known for his power. The 25-year-old is slashing .281/.317/.459 with 13 home runs, six steals, 42 RBI, 34 runs scored and 11 doubles over 301 plate appearances this year. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:18 am
  • Kyle Tucker (shin) resumes jogging on Friday
Astros manager Joe Espada told reporters that Kyle Tucker (shin) resumed jogging on Friday.

Advice: Tucker, who has been out since early June due to a right shin bruise, was able to resume hitting a couple weeks ago, and has finally resumed running again. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar isn’t going to make it back until after the upcoming Midsummer Classic, but it sounds like he’s finally starting to make some actual progress in his recovery. We don’t want to speculate wildly, but it seems like Tucker was recovering from something more serious than a mere contusion, but there’s been nothing official from the club on that front. • Idle vs. lefty Saturday
McNeil is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Advice: The lefty-hitting McNeil will begin Saturday's contest in the dugout with the Pirates sending southpaw Bailey Falter to the mound. Jose Iglesias will start at second base and bat eighth. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:54 am
