  • Doubles, triples in win
Suzuki went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple and an RBI in Thursday's 5-3, 10-inning win over the Giants.

Advice: Suzuki didn't rack up the counting stats but he still had a solid effort in the win. He tallied his 11th double and second triple of the season, and he's now batting a solid .266 with a .796 OPS. Suzuki's game doesn't jump off the page, though he's been a steady contributor since he came over from Japan in 2022. The outfielder slashed .262/.336/.433 as a rookie, then followed that up with a .285/.357/.485 line last season. Suzuki is on pace for similar figures once again this year. • Bryan De La Cruz plates three in win over Phillies
Bryan De La Cruz smacked a game-tying three-run double on Thursday, leading the Marlins to a 7-4 victory over the Phillies.

Advice: De La Cruz walloped a bases-clearing double to left-center field off Phillies lefty reliever Matt Strahm in the seventh inning to spark Miami to a come-from-behind victory. The 27-year-old corner outfielder figures to be a popular name at the trade deadline in a few weeks as he’s in the midst of the best year of his career with a .722 OPS along with 14 homers through 80 games. • Garcia blasts 15th home run in loss Thursday
Adolis Garcia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Garcia’s home run was his 15th of the season. It hasn’t been Garcia’s best season, but he’s showing what it means to possess a solid floor. He’s only hitting .219, but he’s still on pace for around 30 home runs with 15 stolen bases and run totals in the mid-80s. Even though Garcia isn’t repeating the monster season he produced last year, he’s still carving out a pretty nice year for himself.

  • Kyle Schwarber leaves game with groin tightness
Kyle Schwarber was removed from Thursday’s game against the Marlins due to left groin tightness.

Advice: There should be an additional update regarding the severity of the issue at some point following Thursday’s contest, but it sounds like his early exit was merely for precautionary reasons. The 31-year-old slugger was 1-for-4 with a single before leaving the game in the top of the ninth inning. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:06 pm
  • Kyle Tucker (shin) progresses to hitting again
Kyle Tucker (shin) progressed to taking 30 swings off a batting tee earlier this week.

Advice: Tucker is close to resuming running again after landing on the injured list earlier this month with a right shin contusion. It’s a positive sign that he’s progressed to taking some swings again. There isn’t a definitive timetable for his return, but he’s definitely going to need at least a brief minor league rehab assignment before rejoining Houston’s lineup. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:46 pm
  • Manuel Margot drives in pair in blowout victory
Manuel Margot went 2-for-5 with two RBI in a victory over the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: He also scored twice in a game where Minnesota crossed the plate 13 times. Margot picked up his RBI with an infield single in the second and a sacrifice fly an inning later. The 29-year-old has been hitting at the top of the lineup against southpaws as of late, but his .238/.307/.325 slash shows he hasn’t really taken advantage of that slot. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:45 pm
  • Sitting Thursday
Canha is absent from Thursday's lineup against the Angels.

Advice: Canha had started Detroit's last 22 games but hit only .211 in that span. He had a 15.9 percent strikeout rate in that span -- lessening the reason for concern -- though he'll still get a day of rest. Gio Urshela is sliding to first base, Matt Vierling to third, and Adkil Baddoo enters the lineup in left field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:40 pm
  • Lars Nootbaar starting rehab assignment on Friday
Lars Nootbaar (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Friday with Double-A Springfield.

Advice: Nootbaar told reporters Thursday that he expects to play at least five or six rehab contests before returning to the majors. The 26-year-old corner outfielder has been on the shelf since late May recovering from a moderate oblique strain. He’s been snake-bitten by injuries this season, but remains an impactful fantasy contributor, when healthy. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:01 pm
  • Will Brennan to IL with rib cage inflammation
Guardians placed OF Will Brennan on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 25, with rib cage inflammation.

Advice: Brennan heads to the injured list after missing a couple games earlier this week due to a possible oblique issue. He’s been diagnosed with rib cage inflammation, so the hope here is that he isn’t facing a lengthy absence. There should be an official return timetable in the coming days.
