Picking sixth in the draft, freedom8080wpl delivered a roster that even a spurned ex would have to appreciate. They're projected to finish first in TDL Premiere 2016 League at 10-3-0 (1,543 points). With their first five picks, freedom8080wpl aimed for balance, selecting QB Cam Newton (34th overall), RBs Adrian Peterson (6th) and Jamaal Charles (23rd), and WRs Julian Edelman (51st) and Larry Fitzgerald (62nd). They ended up with the most prolific group of RBs in the league, as they added Peterson, Charles, and Danny Woodhead.

freedom8080wpl should just disappear for a while during Week 9. They have four players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have the least challenging slate. Along with the easiest overall schedule, both the first four games and last four games of the season are about league-average difficulty for freedom8080wpl.

Draft Notes

  • Great Idea, Poor Execution

freedom8080wpl will need assistance from the waiver wire in Week 9, as their three WRs with the most projected seasonal points (Julian Edelman, Larry Fitzgerald, and DeSean Jackson) will all be on bye that week.

  • Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

At three different positions, freedom8080wpl picked up projected top-3 players (Cam Newton, Justin Tucker, and Adrian Peterson).

  • Tread Left on the Tires

With an average of 8 years of NFL experience, freedom8080wpl is the team most likely to have a player become a grandpa.

  • A Dominating Pair

freedom8080wpl has a pair of fantasy MVPs in their lineup. Last season, two of their players (Adrian Peterson and Cam Newton) finished among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams.

  • A Target for freedom8080wpl

With 10 targets in each of his final two games of 2015, Woodhead was the only running back to reach triple digits in the category.

  • A Versatile Combination

Danny Woodhead can hurt opponents with his hands as well as his feet. He ranks first among RBs with 601 projected receiving yards.

Player Analysis

    • A. Peterson, RB
    • Round 1, Pick 6
    Advanced Math

    • Jamaal Charles, RB
    • Round 2, Pick 23
    Traditionalist

freedom8080wpl stuck to the tried-and-true fantasy strategy of going RB-RB to start the draft, nabbing Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles right off the bat.

    • Cam Newton, QB
    • Round 3, Pick 34
    Biggest Steal

freedom8080wpl may have found a gem in the third round, grabbing Cam Newton (34th overall pick vs. ADP of 19.9).

    • Julian Edelman, WR
    • Round 4, Pick 51
Possession is Nine-Tenths of the Law

Julian Edelman is expected to be a strong possession receiver this year, and his 92 projected catches rank seventh in the league.

    • DeSean Jackson, WR
    • Round 6, Pick 79
    Apparently ADP is Overrated

With their sixth-round pick, freedom8080wpl pulled the trigger. They took DeSean Jackson at pick number 79 despite an ADP of just 94.9 across all Yahoo! leagues.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent.
