  • Chiefs and Ravens to kickoff 2024 season opener
The NFL announced the Chiefs will face the Ravens to kickoff the 2024 season.

Advice: The location has changed, but the names remain the same. Last year’s AFC title game that was played in Baltimore between the Ravens and Chiefs is set for a rematch, as the Chiefs will play host to the Ravens to kickoff the 2024 regular season. The two AFC powerhouses will face off on NBC — a network many are saying is the best one to catch a game on. While Lamar Jackson will look to win his second-straight MVP and third in six seasons, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are aiming to become the first team to win three-straight Super Bowl championships. Both teams could once again square off in the playoffs, making the opener an exciting preview of potential things to come for what’s sure to be a great season. Rotoworld 43 minutes ago

  • Joining Detroit
The Lions are signing Davis to a contract after he attended rookie camp on a tryout basis, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Advice: Davis was waived by the Cardinals in late April after spending most of last year on the team's practice squad. He was active for one contest during the campaign but didn't see any snaps. The 25-year-old will get a shot to compete for a roster spot among a WR corps that is headed by Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:58 am

  • ‘Fully expected’ Darnold begins offseason as No. 1
ESPN’s Kevin Seifert reports it’s “fully expected” Sam Darnold will begin the Vikings’ offseason program as the No. 1 quarterback over first-round pick J.J. McCarthy.

Advice: In other words, the Vikings are taking the traditional approach of making McCarthy “earn it.” This is a situation where it is not entirely outside the realm of possibility that veteran Darnold actually makes an early-season start or two if McCarthy isn’t ready, but the competition will undoubtedly be rigged in the rookie’s favor. • Gets waived by Carolina
The Panthers waived Camp on Friday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Advice: Camp did not see the field in 2023, and after Carolina added talent at wide receiver in the draft, it opted to cut him. He'll now have to search for another chance with a different franchise. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:54 pm

  • Done with Panthers
Carolina waived Pierce on Friday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.

Advice: Pierce agreed to a reserve/future contract with the Panthers back in January, but they decided to let him go after adding talent at tight end in the draft. He'll now look for another chance with a new team. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:50 pm
